About Focus Forward K9
Focus Forward K9 was born from a deep passion for dogs and a heartfelt desire to help both pets and their people thrive. While our specialty is working with dogs, we proudly cater to all pets, providing compassionate, personalized care tailored to each animal’s unique needs.
We set out to build more than just a training and pet care service—we wanted to create a place where the relationship between humans and animals is nurtured through kindness, understanding, and trust. Our training philosophy centers on engagement, enrichment, and making learning fun for everyone involved.
At Focus Forward K9, we believe the best results come from cooperation, not control. That’s why we’re just as committed to teaching humans as we are to training dogs—helping you understand your pet’s behavior, build better communication, and strengthen the bond you share.
Every step of the way, we aim to ensure that pets feel safe, humans feel supported, and learning happens with joy, patience, and respect.

Casey Crowley
Founder, Owner, & Trainer

Casey’s love for animals began early in life. From horses and whales to dogs, she was drawn to animals of all kinds—and proudly wore the title of “horse girl” throughout her youth. Determined to turn her passion into a career, she enrolled in a trade school focused on equine studies after high school.
However, after battling chronic symptoms for years, Casey was diagnosed with PTSD and Hashimoto’s disease. These health challenges, along with a physical injury, eventually forced her to leave school and pursue a new direction. While her love for horses remained strong, Casey found herself diving deeper into the world of dog training—a passion that quickly took root.
In 2017, Casey began training her Great Dane as her service dog. Though he learned his tasks quickly, his difficulty coping with new and unfamiliar situations led Casey to retire him from service work later that year. In May 2019, she brought home Nox, a black Labrador Retriever, as her next service dog prospect. With dedication, patience, and support from experienced mentors, Casey trained Nox herself, and he officially graduated just before his second birthday.
What began as a working partnership soon blossomed into a powerful training journey. Casey and Nox began competing in a variety of dog sports—including dock diving, where Nox earned his Dock Senior title in the fall of 2018. Today, the duo competes in agility, rally, Fast CAT, and conformation, with a growing list of AKC titles and accomplishments under their belt. Their training journey has been defined by fun, teamwork, and a constant drive to improve and connect.
It was Nox’s first trainer—now a close friend and mentor—who recognized Casey’s talent and encouraged her to consider training professionally. At first, it was just a hobby between her and Nox. But with the encouragement of friends, family, and her community, Casey began offering free group classes and private lessons—and the response was overwhelmingly positive.
In June 2022, she officially launched Focus Forward Dog Training, combining her love for learning, teaching, and canine companionship. Then, in May of 2025, Casey and Nox relocated to Colorado and rebranded the business as Focus Forward K9. The rebrand marked a new chapter—expanding their services to include in-home nail trims, drop-in visits, overnight pet sitting, and more—while continuing their mission to strengthen the bond between dogs and their people.
Together, Casey and Nox continue to grow and succeed—one wag, one win, and one connection at a time.
